From 24 - 26 September 2014 the second Deltas in Times of Climate Change will be held in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
The conference offers three types of sessions:
Deltas in Practice workshops: offering experiences, best practices and case studies
Science sessions Deltas in Depth: sharing the latest scientific findings
Delta sessions: focussing on challenges in specific deltas
Invitation to organise a Deltas in Practice Workshop
The conference will offer participants around thirty workshops tailored to practitioners and policy makers. In this call we invite you to submit a proposal for a Deltas in Practice Workshop.
In solution oriented sessions people from NGOs, private sector and government at (inter)national as well as regional and local level will share lessons learned, and exchange their approaches and best practices. We seek creative ideas, both in content and in form, for the workshops that fit one of the following eight themes:
1. Risk assessment
2. Adaptation strategies
3. Urban design and infrastructure
4. Green adaptation/building with nature
5. Food security and the rural landscape
6. Awareness, capacity building and community resilience
7. Governance and finance
8. Post disaster preparedness and recovery
If you wish to organise a Deltas in Practice workshop that fits within one of the conference themes, please submit your proposal by January 15, 2014.
