Pillar Innovation & Pathfinder Program (IPP)
Final decisions on Innovation and Pathfinder projects

The first call for proposals has been finalised by the decisions of the Governing Board, mid-October. Ten projects have been evaluated positively and are requested to prepare the project description following the Climate-KIC guidelines. They will receive 15.000 euro from the 2011 grant to organise workshops and develop the final descriptions. After approval these projects will be ready to start at the beginning of 2012.
Another nine projects have been evaluated as having a significant potential and are requested to prepare a full project description, but will not be granted 2011 funds. Dutch partners are well represented in the current 2011 projects as well as in the upcoming 2012 projects. An overview of project descriptions and Dutch involvement is available upon request.

Pillar Education
In the upcoming years the Educational Program will offer seven educational products to Master, Doctorate and Postdoctoral students as well as Pioneers and Professionals from government and business partners. For example Master students can opt for an EIT-labelled degree and Professionals can join our workshops on business-idea generation. In this newsletter we will focus on our Master and Professional Program.

The Master Program
The Dutch Centre offers a Climate-KIC Scholar Program on our partner universities (TUD, UU, WUR) which entails an annotation program of several courses within the existing two year Master programs, with a total of 60 ects.
Which courses to follow to build up the 60 ects is slightly different per university.
In addition students of all three universities have to follow the Contextual Learning Journey, the Inspirational Lectures and perform their graduation project on a topic within the Climate Innovations domain, preferably within the Climate-KIC community.
Professional Education
Climate-KIC wants to offer new short courses on Climate Innovation & Entrepreneurship and/or State-of-the-Art Climate Sciences. Also dedicated programs for large international businesses will be implemented. This program will be designed and implemented in strong cooperation with the Entrepreneurship Pillar. In November several workshops will be organised with non-academic partners and potential clients. The workshops will investigate the needs and opportunities for professional courses.
Are you interested in attending one of these workshops to give your input on the content and implementation of these courses? Please contact Martine van Veelen.
